Amalgamated Transit Union 1433 Phoenix, AZ

The Amalgamated Transit Union is the largest labor organization representing transit workers in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1892, the ATU today is comprised of over 190,000 members in 264 local unions spread across 44 states and nine provinces. Composed of bus drivers, light rail operators, maintenance and clerical personnel and other transit and municipal employees, the ATU works to promote transit issues and fights for the interests of its hard-working members.

Bob Bean - President

Member of ATU since August of 2003-ATU

Member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers from 1981-2003 Bob was elected President and Business Agent of Local 1433 in January 2006. Prior to that President Bean was a Steward and Executive Board Member. President Bean also currently serves as President of the ATU Northwest Conference. Bob has spent a lifetime fighting for worker rights.
Dwayne Session - Vice President

Dwayne Session has been a member of Local 1433 since 2002.

Dwayne has served proudly as a Union steward and Executive Board member working out of the East valley for several years. Dwayne tirelessly advocates for the membership and we are happy to have him now serve in the position of Vice President.
Michael Cornelius - Financial Secretary and Treasurer

Member of Local 1433 since January of 2000

Michael was elected to the position of Financial Secretary and Treasurer in March of 2012. Prior to that, Michael was a steward, Recording Secretary, Executive Board Member and Vice President.Michael is the lead negotiator on all ATU Local 1433 labor agreements and along with President Bean arbitrates most cases.  Michael has dedicated his career to the workingmen and woman in public transit.
Dana Kraiza - Recording Secretary

Member of Local 1433 since August of 2002

Dana Kraiza has been a member of ATU Local 1433 since August of 2002. Dana moved here from N.Y. to start a new life after the dramatic events of Sept. 11.Dana transported the National Guards down to the tragic sight of the destruction of the World Trade Centers. Dana became a Union Shop Steward after meeting Bob Bean when he was elected President of Local 1433. Dana was elected Recording Secretary seven years ago and it is her current position with ATU Local 1433.
